Retired Person Is Scared Of Cats

I have been scared of cats since as far back as I can remember. No one in my family can explain why. I still have to ask people I am visiting for the first time if they have cats, or if there are any in the neighbourhood.

I am a jogger, and I am frightened by the prospect of running into a cat. I cannot get out of my car, if I see one laying about close by. This is really embarrassing if I scream because I come up on a cat unexpectedly. I feel like a freak, when I try and explain my situation. Usually people are more understanding of someone who is afraid of dogs.

I hate the fact that people let their cats wonder about. They should be fined just like dog owners who let their dogs out without being on a leash.

This is my sad story. I have been dealing with this phobia for a very long time. I guess I have learned to deal with it the best I can.
