i have something simillar, whereas i can answer the phone, i can't for the life of me call anybody, unless i really have to and even that takes forever,

Hi I also suffer from the fear of the phone. I have to actually talking myself into calling my friends, family, anyone. Back in the 1990s I had a job which was 90% phone calls. I was in such a state of anxiety, I ended up on Valium. I know people think your phobia is nonsense, but it is not. I think the problem is more people have the fear but do not want to talk about it.
Talk to your your doctor and explain to him/her what is going on.
