Phobia of glass stairs

I have a phobia of glass stairs, recently at work we had a really big revamp and for some strange reason they replaced the marble stairs with a complete see through glass staircase i have to go up the escalator and supposed to go down the stairs i use the lift, (in our job we have to aid people up and down the stairs) it wasnt a known thing to every one its quite embarrasing but now about 250 people i work with think im making it up and dont want to do my job or they take the mick out of me my feet and hands go all shakey and its as if u have a pair silk socks on a highly polished table the sliding feeling it makes me sick but i cant answer as to y i can stand heights i just dont like glass floors
