Needle phobia

Just the cursory read of the information about curing needle phobias leads me to believe you definitely do not understand needle phobias. EMLA is great, but doesn't get rid of the phobia. Ice, too. Doping someone up on anti-anxiety medication is not the answer either. It's not the needle that creates the anxiety and fear. It's the invasion of one's body and the feeling of being out of control. Anyone with a needle phobia will pretty much tell you that the needle itself does not hurt. Until someone helps a needlephobe to discover what exactly creates this anxiety and fear, and how best to overcome it, fast fixes like EMLA, ice, and anti-anxiety medications are only band-aids.
