My fear of math has prevented me from going back to school

I'm a 35 year old New York native, who is terrified of math. In school I excelled in writing, english, history..even my fashion design class, but when it came to those numbers? You can forget it!

I remember being in elementary school, and totally freezing up when I had to come to the chalk board and do my times-tables, I remember some kids laughing, and I completely fell apart. Homework was always a struggle, and i just couldn't get it. No one really helped me at home with my homework. None of them were patient.

I would love to go back to school, but I'm scared. Even when it comes to possibly getting my RN, I just go "forget it". I know there is math involved, and I just don't think I can pull it off. I fell really stupid sometimes. Math always felt like something that only the super smart could do.
