Intense Fear of Jewelry

I'm 17 years old and have an intense fear of jewelry and various small objects.

I cant rationalize why, but I feel it something to do with a strange story I heard about my baby cousin.

I was holding an earing of hers for some reason and her mother decided to tell me it was recovered from her nose the day before (images of small metal pieces or diamonds getting lodged into my bodily crevices suddenly surfaced), I immediately threw it against the wall and locked myself in the bathroom.

Ever since then I cant get near jewelry.
