Fear of Snakes

When I was four in California, I stepped on the back of a rattlesnake. I tripped and fell. Soon I was face to face with this angry snake. It reared up a little and prepared to strike. It was five inches from my face! Luckily my dad was there. He chopped up the snake with a shovel. Since then I do have fear of snakes. I can't see snakes, hear snakes, or even see PICTURES of snakes without trouble breathing and panic attacks. It is quite embarrasing in public. Can anyone help?
