Fear of sand scratching a smooth surface
I have a irrational fear or revulsion of sand being scratched into or over a smooth surface, but the worst is metal. I think I developed this when I was young and was playing in a sandbox digging with my hands. Even now when I am walking on the street and I see someone using a broom to sweep sand from concrete or something I feel revulsion throughout my body. I always have to make this shaking movement with my hands that you make after you wash your hands and are trying to get rid of the water. Perhaps it is due to the feeling of sand being stuck under your nails after playing in a sandbox. Also walking over something and feeling the sand crunch under your feet is terrible. Such a ridiculous and irrational fear. Does anyone else have this fear of sand scratching a smooth surface?
