I totally know how you feel! I am not bothered if the robot doesn't resemble a human, but seeing a robot that looks human, in any form, picture, video, or real life, will not let me sleep for a while. I have looked for people with the same problem my whole life but have not found anyone until now. I'm glad I'm not alone. P.S. I am religious it really helps me to know god won't let robots take over. =)good luck

I know how you feel

You have no idea how much less weird I feel right now. I have been afraid of robots since I was a baby (no experience that scarred me for life or anything). When I was two, a mechanical toy train used to chase me around my den, although I am not really creeped out by small mechanical toys anymore. All my life, I've cried on the anamatronic rides at Disney World and such, yet I have no idea why I am so scared of them. I can never visit attractions or eat at restaurants with robots (ex: Rainforest Cafe). I am afraid of all robots of any shape or form, yet I have no problem with them as long as they are on a screen and not physically present. I have always been embarrassed to state my fear out loud, let alone have anyone find out about it, because it seems as if no one else shares it with me. It wasn't until I looked it up when stopped being ashamed. It is a fear just like anything else: heights, rollercoasters, etc.

I'm very similar to you. I have a phobia of giants/robots. Mostly large overpowering robots- transformers for example. They just give me shivers the way their bodies move and the sound they make, the worst is the tripod robots in the film War Of The Worlds. I used to have dreams of being in the city and looking above and a big giant robot was making its way round buildings way up above me and everyone was screaming and it would just crush everything it's path. Everyone laughs when I tell them, I don't know what it is, they just make me nervous and uneasy!

the same as me

Mine isn't as extreme as yours, but I fear robots that are metal and act like humans. For sample robocop, terminator, darliks etc owner I can watch them on tv and be fine, it is the thought of them in real life that fills me itch fear. I never see them o it opens affect my life.......

OMG YOUR NOT ALONE!

You sound EXACTLY like me! Yes, any form shaped robot makes me freeze and cry. I was at the museum one day and they had a robot thing that talked about the displays it had arms and eyes and freaked me out it started to come over to me and I literally jumped down a flight of stairs to get away from it. My Boyfriend thought I was crazy. I was having a major panic attack and crying because of that thing we had to leave. The robot dog and cat toys brought me to tears once. Unfortunately i'm 31 and have not been able to get over it. Just totally in the mind set that they will come harm me some day some how. And as long as I can stay away from them that's what I plan on doing
