Fear of people being in my home

I suffer from a paralysing fear of people being in my home, of my privacy being invited.

I am fine when in social situations outside of my home and my job involves working with the public. I have no problems at work having been noted several times for my customer service skills.

However when I am at home it is a completely different story, I cant bear the idea of people entering my home.

During a routine inspection visit from my landlord I became so distressed I had a full blown panic attack. The more rooms he entered the more hysterical I became.

I cant have friends or even family around and no one seems able to tell me what the problem is.

Is this a form of social anxiety and if so why doesnt it manifest itself anywhere beyond my home?
