Fear of Large Open Empty Rooms

by Steven

I'm a 42 year old male and I've had this weird phobia for as long as I can remember. Whenever I walk into a large open room, for example an empty church or empty warehouse with high ceilings, a feeling of anxiety waves over me. It mainly happens in older buildings. I remember walking into the York Minster in York for the first time and an overwhelming feeling of anxiety hits me. I don't feel like I have to leave immediately, but it's a weird feeling, almost like the feeling of someone who is scared of heights.

I don't know why this is, but like I said I've had it since I can remember.

Thanks, Steven.
