Fear of Insects Entering My Body
For the longest time, I've had this irrational fear of insects and other creepy-crawlies smaller then the palm of my hand entering my body. It started when I had a nightmare as a young child about being stripped naked, being restrained, and thousands upon thousands of insects released to burrow into my body and through natural openings such as ears, nose, etc. It's why I freak out every time a bug lands on my arm or I find one in an article of clothing I had previously worn. It's also only small insects. I'm okay with larger insects, surprisingly (though they still do startle me), because I always believed them to be to large to do any such thing. My friends always made fun of my odd fear, but I'd like to see how THEY would react to a small spider inching it's small, hairy torso under the skin of their arm and see how they feel.
At least with large insects, you know they're on you...
