Fear of getting my ankles chopped off

by Morgan
(Massachusetts)

So, it was early in the morning and I was getting ready for school. As usual, I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I always took showers in the morning, mind you. So, I got my towel, off of the shelf, and then undressed, and turned on the shower. While I was washing my hair, I heard a noise somewhere in the bathroom. I stopped singing Glee, and stood there for about, 2 minutes.--Because I also have a bad phobia of not being able to hear everything around me when I'm scared. So, then I thought of the scariest thing. I literally (no lie!) felt like someone or something, that was outside my shower curtain, was going to take a knife and chop at my ankles. I pictured it happening and screamed. I wasn't even finished showering, but I proceeded to turn the water off and dry off quickly and go in my room to change. For about a week, I felt this way every morning I showered.
