Can't drive out of state anymore....

At one point, when I was much younger, I drove from Colorado to Maine by myself with absolutely NO FEAR. Never thought twice about it - just did it.

Now, for some reason, I get HUGE ANXIETY when I even THINK about driving out of my home state. My son graduates from college this spring, and I'm SCARED TO DEATH to drive the 11 hours to the ceremony. I'm totally terrified that I will get hopelessly lost, and I don't trust a GPS to help me. My sister is mad at me and thinks I'm just making excuses to not visit her four states away.

Does anyone else have this problem?
