Although an apparent and seemingly widespread fear, I am deathly afraid of heights, not the sensation of falling but just heights. Ironically, I am 6 foot 5 inches and have always been hesitant about going into tall buildings. Whenever I get about 15 feet off the ground, my pulse starts racing, vision gets blurry, and even perspire. Because of this one obstacle, I am not able to ride rollercoaters, to go up stairs easily, or to enjoy anything. Several times I have tried to face my fear but it left me quivering in trepidation; I have went up the St. Louis arch, Rockefeller Center, Willis Tower even rode towering rollercoasters just to conquer it, but it only exaggerated everything. As far as I know, this may not be something I can ever get rid of.
